Major Data Center Facilities Upgrades Completed

August 31, 2006 - This year has brought a great deal of change to Prominic.NET:

* Earlier this year we opened our second facility, located just minutes away from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and 15 miles south of our primary data center.

* We connected our two data centers via a high-speed, private fiber line.

* Finally, we added a direct fiber interconnect to Sprint at our new facility, which augments our primary data center’s connection to the Internet via McLeod USA.

What do these upgrades mean to you, our customers?

* The interconnect to Sprint provides additional redundancy for our Internet connections. With the fiber link between data centers, as long as one of our providers is functioning, your systems have access to the Internet.

* The additional data center with high-speed connectivity to our primary facility provides us with the means to support those of you who need more robust solutions. Clustering can now span physically-disparate servers, providing an extra layer of protection.

* Tape media is now stored at our new facility, providing cost-effective offsite storage of all backup.

* Servers in our primary facility can now take advantage of online storage located in our secondary site. Using standard storage-over-IP protocols, your servers in our primary facility can remotely (and safely) store data backups to disk storage systems at our secondary site.

If you have additional needs in the area of server failover or redundancy, or you just need to improve your backup solution, give our Sales staff a call to discuss our many options. They’ll be happy to work with you to find a solution that meets your needs from both a technical and financial perspective.

Private Networking Options Expanded

Prominic.NET has also invested in a private Time Division Multiplex (TDM) infrastructure. This allows us to support any enterprise customer's need to directly terminate DS3 and OC3 services at either of our data centers. These circuits can then be transported between the sites, depending upon which location provides the most economical direct link. Customers who have already made significant investments in their own network infrastructure can now cost-effectively integrate Prominic services without any degradation of performance.
